وافق البنك الدولي على تمويل إضافي لفائدة تونس بقيمة 23,8 مليون دولار أمريكي، اي ما يعادل 72 مليون دينار سيخصص لمشروع مجابهة جائحة فيروس كورونا، مع التركيز على تعزيز قدرات النظام الصحي في البلاد حتى يواجه المتطلبات الصحة للمواطنين، حسب ما اعلن عنه البنك في بيان له الجمعة.
واضاف البنك في بلاغ له، “ان هذا التمويل الإضافي الثاني، والذي يشمل قرضاً بقيمة 22 مليون دولار ومنحة قدرها 1,8 مليون دولار، سيعمل على تعزيز قدرات الرعاية السريرية والاستعجالية وكذلك الجراحية في المستشفيات التونسية، بما يساهم في تعافي تونس من جائحة كورونا من خلال التخفيف من عبء حالات الإصابة الشديدة بالفيروس.
كما ستمكن الأموال الإضافية تونس من شراء المعدات والأجهزة الطبية وتقديم المساعدة الفنية لتعزيز قدرة النظام الصحي على الصمود.
وقال مدير مكتب البنك الدولي في تونس، ألكسندر أروبيو، حسب ذات البلاغ، “أن تعزيز قدرة النظام الصحي من شانه أن يساعد البلاد على مواصلة جهودها في مكافحة الجائحة وما نجم عنها من آثار، وتعزيز رأس المال البشري، وبناء تعافيها التنموي المستدام والشامل للجميع.”
واعتبر البنك في ذات البيان، ان تونس، التي كانت من أكثر البلدان تضرراً من تفشي جائحة كورونا في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، وصلت إلى معدل تطعيم كامل لنسبة 54% من السكان (68% للسكان المستهدفين ممن تزيد أعمارهم عن 12 عاماً) مشيرا الى ان هذه النسبة تمثل واحدة من أعلى معدلات التطعيم في بلدان المنطقة.
وبين ان البنك العالمي ساند جهود تونس في مجابهة الجائحة من خلال مشروع بقيمة 20 مليون دولار تمت الموافقة عليه في عام 2020، والذي ساند شراء معدات الوقاية الشخصية، تلاه تمويل إضافي قدره 100 مليون دولار تمت الموافقة عليه في عام 2021، والذي ساند شراء اللقاحات وتوزيعها لتغطية
